Ok people, here we go: Everything you ever wanted (or needed) to know about STP's...
*For any veterans in the field, if there is anything really obvious I’m missing, please let me know!!
Introductory Resources: Here are some websites and a video that are a really great introduction to the STP’s that are available for sale or on how to make your own.
Websites:
·
· FTMtransition.org – http://www.ftmtransition.org/products.htm (scroll down to the STP
section)
Youtube Video:
· AccompliceXX, “Make an ee-zy pee-zy STP (stand-to-pee) packer” –
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HjVYyKkA20o
This video is a really great intro to making your own STP because it shows you the basic
concept of making a hole in a packer, and then putting some kind of receptacle for urine into
the packer.
*FYI – He recommends using the Travelmate, but as far as I can tell this product is
currently unavailable. Its website, [www.travelmateinfo.com], has been down for a
while now, and I haven’t found it anywhere else.
Receptacles (aka Spoons): The items that are bolded red are ones that are designed specifically for peeing through. The rest are items you can buy relatively cheaply, and then modify ’em a lil to use them as an STP.
The most common is a regular medicine spoon, which you can use without additional tubing – just make a hole in the end so that your piss can come out lol. Many have complained that wearing that in your pants (i.e. putting a medicine spoon or travelmate in a soft packer) makes you look like you have a boner all day, myself included, so its possible to modify the spoon by attaching softer tubing to it if you don't want to just keep it in your pocket and pull it out when necessary. I’ll get into this more in the next section...
Coffee Can Lid
I think this one is pretty self-explanatory. Just fold the lid, put it in place, and piss away.
Medicine Spoon
These are pretty standard, but depending on the brand some can be rounder around
the spoon edges whereas others are more square. The image on the Left shows you
a rounder one, and the one on the Right is a square one. You can get them at any
pharmacy, drug store, dollar store, etc...look in the baby isle. lol
‘Mini’ Medicine Spoon
This one is basically a shorter and stouter version of the round medicine spoon,
and it is the one I use in the
post comparing this tothe regular medicine spoon so
I found mine on Amazon here: http://www.amazon.com/Ezy-Dose-Medicine-
Mini-Spoon/dp/B000NN1XDM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1243754022&sr=8-1
Dosage Korc
For a personal testimonial of this one, check out my friend Cullen's vid:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aMBpv0HyVRo. He got his at Walmart,
but unfortunately I haven't been able to find it anywhere else (online or in person).
And Walmart doesn't sell this product on its website, so you have to go in person.
If anyone finds this elsewhere, let me know!!
I’ve only heard about this one from one place, a post by a friend of mine named Dylan
on Genderoutlaw’s blog (http://genderoutlaw.wordpress.com/2008/08/03/packer-comparison-and-making-a-stp-device/). The idea is to cut off part of the bulb to create a funnel, and the tubing
it comes with apparently works very well. I plan on posting a video of him describing
this in more detail in a future post, so keep your eyes peeled!!
Nasal aspiration bulb / Baby mucus syringe
This one just occurred to me, in case you like the idea of the turkey baster but prefer to add your own (softer) tubing. It might also be appealing because the bulb is larger than the turkey baster, so you could create a larger funnel that could cover a larger surface area and not require as much “aim” when you’re putting the sucker in place. Lol.
You can get it at any pharmacy, once again in the baby isle.
FTM U-Tube
The spoon on this is very similar to the design of the dosage korc, except that it's
coated with liquid rubber to
and it comes with latex tubing attached to it. It's also
plastic cover for the receptacle when not in use, which you can see in this picture
sitting right behind the balls. It looks like there's something up with their server
though, so the link isn't working at the moment and the only picture I could find was
one of the tubing already inside a packer (which is called the FTM S.T.U.D).
http://www.whizproducts.co.uk/en/
This is a device made for female-bodied ppl to pee outdoors, at music festivals,
that kind of thing. A big complaint in the trans community has been that devices
of this kind usually only come in these incredibly bright and femme colors
(pink, purple, etc.), so that’s something to consider...
For another blurb on this and other similarly designed STP's, check out Hudson's
descriptions here: http://www.ftmguide.org/bathroom.html#stp
GoGirl
This is a really similar design to the whiz, but it has one major distinctive feature...
it is made out of a silicone material that is soft and very pliable (you can literally
wrinkle it up into your hand), but is simultaneously rigid enough to pee through.
Genius!
*This one did not make it to Hudson's page
She-Wee
This one seems to be very popular in the trans community, although I have
personally never tried it. It’s definitely the FUD (feminine urinary device)
I’ve heard about the most, although there is a little firestorm brewing with
the GoGirl...
Pee-Zee
Sorry for the uh crudeness of this picture lol. It was the only one I could find, and anyway I guess it’s nice to get a sense of the size relative to an actual person. What makes this one different...well it comes in maaad colors, so that’s always fun.
Pstyle
This STP device is new to me...I swear I didn’t mean to rip off the name! Hoping
I won’t get hit on copyright infringement...I don’t know much about it, but you
Freshette / Sani-Fem Freshette F.U.D. (feminine urinary director)

Ok you get the picture...it looks like the tubing they use here is acrylic tubing,
which is the semi-hard tubing (harder than latex but softer than the plastic tube
of a medicine spoon) that i’ll get to in the next section...
Lady J

opening wouldn’t really facilitate an easy stand-up-to-pee. But as
points out, that can be pretty easily remedied (add the tubing of you choice).
Travelmate
The Travelmate is really similar to the medicine spoon, but it is designed specifically
for female bodied persons to pee through (i.e. for people hiking, etc.). Once again
though, this product is MIA for now, not sure where you can get it. I couldn't even
find a picture of it, but if you're curious just check-out AccompliceXX's youtube vid.
Urinelle
This one is a little different because it is made out of biodegradable paper, so its
disposable.
Whizzy
This one is also disposable paper, but it also obviously not a full funnel, but
instead an open V-concept. In case you're into that. lol
Tubing: There is some debate about whether softer or harder tubing is more effective, so I thought that warranted some discussion here. The major complaint about softer tubing is that it makes it difficult to whip out your dick and piss with one hand because it doesn't provide enough leverage, and most people find they have to use one hand to place the spoon in place and the other to hold the dick and aim. However, the main complaint about using stiffer tubing which does provide that leverage is that if you're wearing it in your pants/in a packer it gives the appearance of a permanent hardon. I'm still working on creative solutions to this problem, but in the meantime here are some options...
Latex tubing
If you’re using a regular medicine spoon, or a Travelmate, but would prefer softer
tubing through the shaft of your packer, you can cut off the tube part of the medicine
spoon and then attach latex tubing with a strong glue adhesive. The mini medicine
spoon comes with a much shorter tube, so in that case the only modifying I did to
attach soft tubing was to make a hole in the end. Some people have latex allergies,
but since it doesn't come in direct contact with your skin it might still be an option
(depending on the severity of the allergy). I got mine at HomeDepot, but I've heard its
also available at Lowe's and on fishing websites. And it comes in different sizes, so
you can choose what makes the most realistic pee-stream but is wide enough to not
cause back-flow.
Acrylic tubing
Some people really like this option because it is stiffer than latex tubing, but softer
and more flexible than the plastic used in medicine spoons, travelmate, turkeybaster,
etc. It comes in an even wider variety of sizes than the latex, so that can be useful too.
I got mine at the Home Depot as well, and it comes wrapped up like the pic above of
the latex (sorry I couldn’t find a better picture of the acrylic).
Packers: I’m dividing this into packers that you can buy with an STP built into it vs. packers that you can buy as is and then modify yourself. I’ve decided not to include a listing of prosthetics in this post bc I personally don’t have any experience with them (at least not yet). But if you’re interested,
Packy
This is the cheapest and most common packer used for regular packing and for
modification into an STP. It is made out of a relatively realistic material, but as a
consequence requires some maintenance (apply corn starch, baking soda, or potato
starch to return it to its original texture...it gets sticky after you wash it, and
deteriorates faster if you don't apply this). You can get it at Toys in Babeland,
Early2Bed, Mango Products, or possibly even at your local sex shop. A major
downfall of this packer that it is nearly impossible to find it in darker shades;
I bought the "tan" and it looks like the pink dick starved of blood more than a
darker shade lol, and the "chocolate" has been discontinued by the manufacturer.
*Note that the packy sold by Good Vibrations, called the GV Soft Pack, is not recommended to STP modification because it comes with a rod through the shaft to give it a more realistic look and feel...which is too bad bc it comes in a 4in size, which is a hard length to find (the standard packy only comes in 3.5 and 5), as well as in darker colors.
Mr. Right
This packer is different from the Packy because it is made out of a silicone material
(VixSkin) that appears and feels very realistic, and is heavier, stiffer (holds its shape
more), and more durable. You can get it at Toys in Babeland or Early2Bed. It is a
bigger investment, which is why most people don’t try making it into an STP, but I
decided to take the risk and figured out a way to modify it (see previous posts). I’ll
do a more indepth pros/cons post later on...
Dj knows DICKS
Dj is a trans guy who has this really great site where he offers STP’s w/ packers that
come in 4 different sizes and 4 different colors (one is a special-order color). YOU
WON’T FIND THIS VARIETY ANYWHERE ELSE, trust me! For pics, just click
on one of the links, I didn't want to rip off any pics from his website.
I emailed him and asked if he would sell me a packer individually w/o the tubing (I
want to experiment some more with my own), and he was really helpful and is selling
it to me for $30 ($15 for packer + $15 for shipping).
*FYI he told me the pics on his website of the dick he uses is the CinnaMAN Brown,
and that’s also the color I ordered...in case that helps you with your color-choice.
Mango
This one is probably the most well-known ready-made STP in a packer on the market.
It’s gotten very mixed reviews: some swear by it, others complain that the spoon was
not as effective as it looks, and others didn’t like that the soft tubing makes it necessary
to use two hands. It’s also a pretty expensive product. In any case, you can find it here.
FTM S.T.U.D
You can see a picture of this one above in the Ftm U-tube description above, but for now
I'm not sure how to get one since the server expired I think. But if it gets up and
running to the same address, here's the link: www.thetransitionalmale.com/ftmstud.html
Harnesses: A harness is key...you don’t want you dick falling down your pants leg. There are like a gazillion different kinds though, so I can’t list them all. However, the only one that is pre-made specifically for STP use (not just for a soft packer/hard dildo) that I know of is on Mango’s website. Thetransitionalmale used to have one, but its unclear when that might be available again. I’ll do a separate post later on some home-made ones I’ve come across or made myself, but for now here are links to my absolute favorite (2 links for the same harness):

Hope this helps,
Andile
